About

 Hi :)

Welcome to Emily Charlotte.

Emily Charlotte was opened in February 2015 whilst I was studying Art and Design at Birmingham City University.

You'll find our bricks and mortar shop nestled in the village of Shenstone, just outside Lichfield. Here you can find vintage furniture and upholstery all lovingly restored by me and the team. We have an eye for detail and don't let anything leave the workshop without making sure it has a first class finish.

We also have a range of accessories, soft furnishings and gifts for your home and garden. Many of which are dog themed, we're a bit dog crazy here and you may be greeted by a pair of wagging tails from time to time.

We are official stockists of Frenchic Furniture paint for you to carry out your own projects at home. We're always on hand with plenty of advice, hints and tips to give you the best results. If you want more guidance you can join one of our furniture painting workshops.

From a young age I have always had an interest in interiors and Art. My grandmas house is packed full of gilded, decoupaged and painted furniture that I've painted from the age of 7. She let me loose on everything! I've since tried to convince her that they all need repainting but she insists that they're perfect.

During the second year of my degree I used my student loan to buy my first house. I didn't have any money left over for furnishings so got creative with what I'd been gifted by family and friends. As part of an environmental project at University I was invited to exhibit my reimagined furniture at the opening of the new library of Birmingham. It was a huge success and I was granted some funding by the university. I'm still using some of the tools I bought today!
